The very particular distribution of the heating elements of the Heating Mat allows a gradual reduction of the temperature, going from the center of the heating element, to the periphery. This considerably reduces the risk of cracks in the glass of the terrarium walls.The thermal surface uniformity is guaranteed by wide strips of heating resin (PTC system). The advantage over other systems (heating cables type), is that the Heating Mat also allows the establishment of a so-called "cool" zone in the terrarium, because it is applied on one side only on the bottom of the tank.
