Aquarium Systems' NP Biopellets will enable targeted nitrate and phosphate degradation in seawater aquariums. Filtration with NP Biopellets is a probiotic method in which, thanks to the presence of an organic carbon source, heterotrophic marine bacteria promote nitrification and denitrification through biomass growth. Made from 100% biodegradable polymers, they are both a colonization medium and a nutrient source for bacteria designed to degrade nitrates and phosphates. Bacteria will use NP Biopellets as a source of carbon (energy source), nitrates and phosphates from aquarium water as a source of nitrogen and phosphorus.
