Maintaining the Filtreco filter is relatively simple. It is recommended to regularly clean the brushes in the first chamber to remove large debris. The subsequent chambers (movable bed and Japanese mat) require less frequent cleaning, approximately once a year, using pond water to avoid disrupting the bacterial colonization. The drain valves facilitate the removal of sediment accumulated at the bottom of the filter.

The Filtreco 3 Chamber Medium filter is designed for ponds up to 20,000 liters. Ensure your pump's flow rate is compatible with the filter's maximum flow rate (15 m³/h). If your pond is larger, you may want to consider using multiple filters or a more powerful model.

In a gravity-fed system, the filter is placed at ground level, and water flows from the pond to the filter by gravity, then returns to the pond via a pump. In a pump-fed system, the pump sends water directly from the pond to the filter, which is usually placed higher than the water level. Gravity-fed systems are often preferred because they are gentler on aquatic organisms and reduce the risk of pump damage.
