Why should you use Waste-Away Gels?

The visible consequence is the development of harmful organisms such as algae, filamentous algae, cyanobacteria and dinoflagellates.
In the case of cyanobacteria, the use - mistakenly - of an oversized skimmer removes even more good bacteria from the water, making the problem worse. So, to eliminate these harmful organisms over the long term, it's essential to add bacteria to the water. That's where Waste-Away gels come in: they gradually release bacteria into the water to replace those that have been eliminated. Simple, effective and without the need for expensive equipment such as dosing pumps, the gels ensure a constant source and spread of useful bacteria.
If your aquarium has problems with algae, filamentous algae, cyanobacteria, dinoflagellates and the like, we recommend that you first use Re-Fresh and Waste Away in liquid form to clean the aquarium and get rid of them. Then use Waste-Away gels regularly to keep the aquarium clean and the water clear.
How do Waste-Away gels work?
Waste-Away gels are extremely easy to use and require no special equipment to operate.
They release good bacteria that will take charge of consuming and breaking down nutrients and organic waste. Thanks to these "cleaning" bacteria, your aquarium water will remain clear and clean. Waste-Away gels are 100% safe for fish, plants and corals.

When you're ready to use the gels
Take the product out of its packaging. Then remove the protective plastic wrapping the gel holder.Waste-Away gels continuously release good bacteria into the aquarium water.
These good bacteria consume nitrates, phosphates to organic loads while keeping the aquarium cleaner and the water clearer.
The gels release bacteria for a period of around 30 days and will change color to indicate that they need replacing.

When you're ready to use the gels
Remove the tab and attach the suction cup (supplied).
Stick the gel in your aquarium or settling tank (ideally in an area with low water circulation).
