The Filter Media Aquaroche are porous ceramic modules specially designed to provide optimal bacterial surface in marine and freshwater aquariums. With a porosity comparable to that of the Indonesian living rock (60–65 %), these filtering elements constitute a ideal base for bacterial colonization and microfauna, ensuring stable and sustainable biological balance.
A technology inspired by living rock
Thanks to live Rock Function label Aquaroche, these filtering media reproduce the natural properties of living rocks while avoiding their disadvantages (parasites, harmful, weight). Each module presents a complex network of open cells from 20 to 100 μ connected by tunnels and cracks ranging from 100 μ to 1 mm, allowing a optimal water and oxygen circulation.

Instructions for use
- Do not rinse with tap water: immerse the modules in a nutrient-rich bacterial soup before introduction.
- Place the modules under a thin layer of prefiltration foam, with a regular water flow.
- Wait 4 to 6 weeks for complete bacterial colonization.
- Never rinse the elements once colonized so as not to destroy active bacteria.
- Anaerobic bacteria, responsible for nitrate reduction, develop after 4 to 6 months.
