Aquacare Turbo Chalk 2 bis calcium reactor
The calcium reactor AquaCare Turbo Chalk is a patented device. It ensures safe and simple increase of the concentration of calcium and carbonate in the hardness of the saltwater aquarium.
The advantages with respect to other limestone reactors impressive :
The supply of CO2 is reduced by 78-82 % , resulting in less free CO2 in the aquarium through the neutralization system installed in series.
Reduced concentration of dissolved carbon dioxide greatly reduces the danger of growth of algae .
No overdose of CO2 in the reactor is possible with the new controller ( optional). It does not allow the entry of carbon dioxide without the pH - meter and does not allow the release of CO2 bubbles in the rejection .
Regulation of phosphate in the fact that automatic decanted , it is an innovation of the AquaCare .
Suspending the aggregate limestone : This process produced in lime reactor Turbo- Kalk, is a process which greatly increases the contact on each grain of limestone aggregate , making it faster dissolution. This technique is the most efficient to date , preventing the formation of bubbles or channels within the substrate .
The reactor volume remains small even for the largest Turbo- Kalk, compared to other reactors in the market , but with its efficiency, the Turbo- Kalk is the world's most efficient reactor limestone !
The new Turbo granulate - Kalk is based on calcite : the granule AquaCare dissolves 2-11 times better than traditional materials limestone ( coral sand , aragonite, hydrogen carbonate ... ) - the effectiveness of calcium reactor Turbo - Kalk is considerably higher than the traditional system .
A simple ventilation foreign gas if the foreign gases are not removed regularly , no reactor limestone can work effectively in the long term. The breakdown of the calcium reactor Turbo- kalk is performed by the disconnection of the circulation pump.
None Possible clogging. Sediments and residues are collected in the tube and can be easily removed from the system . The substrate used is only replaced - a renewed filling of limestone reactor is not necessary . Maintenance ZERO !
The water flow is optimized to get the best mixture of CO2 , even the smallest CO2 bubbles emerges from the aggregate are reinjected again.
Series CO2 bubble counter , and a small mixer with precision valve for easy and secure adjustment of the reactor limestone Turbo- Kalk .
Accessories: Flow meter .
Methods for increasing the hardness and calcium carbonate
In each saltwater aquarium , calcium carbonate and the hardness with time becomes the factor of shortage . Therefore , these two parameters must be maintained .
Four methods are known reliable now .
1 Injection of CO2 . Put this method CO2 necessary to corals directly and not through a reactor. The disadvantage is the decrease of the pH value in the aquarium ( up to 7.5 ) which drives a driven filamentous algae and higher phosphates and nitrates .
This method is not suited to our aquarium but only for livestock professionals .
2 calcium chloride . With this method, two parameters (calcium, and KH ) are added separately (eg solutions V1 and V2 AquaCare care ) .
This method is suitable primarily for small aquariums or a value , usually carbonate hardness decrease ( 5-7 ° KH) and calcium ( 400-450 mg / l) under optimal conditions.
For larger aquariums, the solution is too expensive. Some authors also warn against the offset ion appearing with this method. AquaCare however, has never been able to show negative phenomena assumed by a water change of at least 1-5 % per month.
Precaution minerals replacement AquaCare can be added simultaneously.
The pH value is stabilized by this method.
With metering pump , the supplement can be automated easily.
A drop KH may be corrected with a buffer solution or a calcium reactor .
3 Lime water . With this method , the calcium is added as calcium oxide or calcium hydroxide to water .
The condition is to have a high enough to have a correct mixture for the upper part of the lime water reactor. The disadvantages of the method is that the pH is very high ( pH 12), a frequent cleaning of the reactor, adding to the short lifetime of the solution. The advantages are the simultaneous removal of excess water from the aquarium phosphate and smaller costs .
Automation is expensive, since a lime-water reactor must be stirred regularly injected into the aquarium with numerous precautions.
4 reactor with limestone injection of carbon dioxide . Dissolves this method of CO2 in a reaction vessel so that the pH value down in this reactor (pH < 5.2 ) . Water dissolves acid turn limestone substrate so that the calcium and carbonate hardness of the water increased. The advantage of the method is easy to automate ( reactor limestone) . The downside is too important salting of carbon dioxide in the seawater aquarium, no real control , so that filamentous algae can explode.
The reactor includes a limestone as a security setting of the internal pH control of the supply of carbon dioxide necessary . However, the pH meter must be calibrated regularly.
The influx of aquarium water is not easily adjustable with many models so that a dosing pump becomes necessary.
The phosphate in the aquarium water is not removed by this method .
The calcium reactor with Turbo - Kalk intake of carbon dioxide : the limestone reactor is Turbo - Kalk most advanced reactors traditional limestone . The effectiveness of the dissolution process of the granules was increased dramatically , with a system of suspending the substrate ( fluidized bed ) .
the supply of carbon dioxide is automated without pH meter and is visible by a counter integrated bubbles ; the operating pH value is from 5.2 to 5.3 with the consequent decrease of CO2 consumed , approximately 80 % .
The water supply can be easily controlled by the bowl decanting and be adjusted by means of the valve. To make it work , we need an air pump and a fuel pump ..
We recommended this product for a normal aquarium reef alone has it combines all the advantages of both methods.
