BioCeraMAX 1600 is a distinctive addition crafted for biological water filtration in various aquatic environments, including freshwater and marine aquariums, paludariums, aquaterrariums, and terrarium pools. These additions come in the form of spherical balls constructed from fine-grained sintered glass, providing an exceptionally large filtration surface area of 1600 square meters.

Within the internal pores of the BioCeraMAX 1600 balls situated within the aquarium filter, beneficial nitrifying bacteria strains from the Nitrosomonas and Nitrospira genera gradually colonize over time. These microorganisms utilize metabolic byproducts, specifically ammonia (Nitrosomonas) and nitrites (Nitrospira), which can be harmful to fish. Nitrifying bacteria convert ammonia and nitrite into nitrates, which are much safer for aquarium inhabitants.

BioCeraMAX 1600 serves excellently as a filter medium in various filtration systems, including canister filters, overflow filters, internal filters equipped with compartments for loose media (e.g., TURBOFILTER), sumps, and filter chimneys. It is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums and is particularly recommended for tanks housing large fish populations.

BioCeraMAX 1600 is ready for immediate use and does not necessitate rinsing or additional preparation. Simply pour the contents of the package into the filter basket or filtration chamber. For optimal results, position the BioCeraMAX 1600 medium behind the mechanical filtration media and ahead of the chemical filtration media.

For AQUAEL filters such as UNIMAX 150, UNIMAX 250, MIDIKANI 800, MINIKANI 80, MINIKANI 120, ASAP, and VERSAMAX 3, it is recommended to use one package, equivalent to 1 liter of BioCeraMAX 1600. In other filter systems, one BioCeraMAX 1600 package is suitable for aquariums with a capacity of approximately 250 liters.

The BioCeraMAX 1600 cartridge can be utilized for an extended period without the need for replacement. However, it may undergo gradual wear due to compression over time, which can reduce its effectiveness. To maintain optimal filtration, it is advisable to replace approximately one-third of the medium with a new portion every 6-12 months. During filter maintenance, rinse the cartridge in water collected from the aquarium. Avoid washing BioCeraMAX 1600 with tap water to prevent sterilization.
