Reptile Systems heating mats are already established throughout Europe and the UK and have proven to be unrivalled in terms of reliability, safety and performance. These heat mats are available in the most common sizes, and are at the top end of the market. To complement the heat mats, we are rounding out the line with heat strips, which are 15 cm wide instead of 28 cm, giving us a range suitable for almost any heating need.

How are Reptile Systems heat strips different?

Reptile systems heat strips are made from a polymer sheet that is then screen printed with a proprietary electrically conductive ink, giving our heat mats their ultra flat profile. The characteristics are the same as those of the mat, with the distribution of the heating compound allowing for a gradual decrease in temperature towards the edge of the heating strips, reducing the risk of glass cracking due to thermal shock. A high thermal response combined with uniformity of heat over the rest of the surface is guaranteed. Thermistor properties are also incorporated into each mat as an added safety feature.

The strips are ideal for heating reptiles, amphibians, insects, birds, and small animals in the same manner as the mats, but for those that don't require such a large heat source. They have the same adhesive backing, which allows for trouble-free installation on the side or back of a glass terrarium. They can also be used for heating under the terrarium as long as the substrate is not too thick. Use the supplied feet to ensure proper air circulation.

Normally, they are used to heat multiple smaller enclosures, such as hatching racks and shelving systems. They offer the same type of application as heating cables but without the bulk due to their slim profile, making them easier to use and construct the enclosure.
