The ReefLED 160S combines 160W of coral-safe REEF-SPEC LED light with a patented oblong lens creating a beautiful, even diffusion in an 80cm aquarium in all three directions. Several pieces of equipment can be mounted 75 cm apart while ensuring visual uniformity of light over the entire length of the aquarium. Only two units are needed for a 150 cm long aquarium, or three units for a 225 cm long aquarium. The 160S is therefore the ideal choice for large aquariums.

At the heart of the unit is a compact LED array, producing 160W of REEF-SPEC LED light and safe for corals. It features a 140W multi-wavelength REEF-SPEC blue channel (a proprietary blend of 23,000 Kelvin blue, purple and ultraviolet LEDs), as well as 20 W of 9,000 Kelvin white, and a separate channel of 3 W for the moonlight. This matrix provides a wide range of REEF-SPEC light that will please you as much as your corals.

The ReefLED 160S also comes with built-in Wi-Fi that allows full control via the ReefBeat smart aquarium app that controls all Red Sea devices. The app includes predefined lighting programs, as well as additional functions such as sunrise / sunset effects, moon cycle, random clouds and even an acclimatization program for new installations.

Distribution of PAR safe for corals
ReefLEDs are coral-safe and ensure ideal PAR values ​​throughout the aquarium, without overly or under-lit areas for coral growth. The PAR distribution map shows the actual PAR levels and their variation in cross-section in the aquarium.

ReefLED / PAR vs PUR programming
Using only PAR measurements to determine the quality or compatibility of the light produced by a light module for coral photobiology can be misleading. The PAR measurement was developed to record the Photosynthetic Active Radiation of plants in the visible light range (400 - 700 nm).

The Photosynthetic Radiation Used or PUR that is appropriate for optimal photosynthesis of zooxanthellae is between 360 and 480 nm which starts outside the visible spectrum (measured with PAR meters) in the UV range and continues in the blue part of the spectrum visible.
